How does NODE40 Assign Fair Market Value?

When transactions are executed on exchanges and that data is provided to NODE40, either by file upload or direct API access, NODE40 uses pricing data supplied by the exchange as part of that data. This is inline with the most recent IRS guidance.

In cases where the pricing per currency is not provided, NODE40 uses a volume weighted average from hundreds of global exchanges to apply a fair market value. This too is inline with the recent IRS guidance.

In all cases, you as our customer is given the freedom to change any pricing applied, whether from the exchanges or from NODE40 so you can make any adjusts you or your accountant feel are appropriate.

Where Does NODE40 Get Their Token Values From?

Our unit values come from a number of third party aggregators. These aggregators get their data from a variety of exchanges. The values we assign are based on 24 hour average trade rates.

In your NODE40 Balance ledger we provide the ability for users to override the value data to reflect the particular trades they took part in at the values they transacted with.

How Can I Override Valuations?

Expand any transaction and valuation can be modified if desired. This can also be done by hovering on the value and clicking the pen/paper icon to bring up the edit box. There is also section to indicate notes or a reason, for transparency and audit trail purposes.
